ClubGRANTS is designed to ensure that larger registered clubs in NSW contribute to the provision of front-line services to their local communities; and to ensure that the disadvantaged in the community are better positioned to benefit from the substantial contributions made by those clubs. Some of the members of the Board of the Wingham Services Club attended the local Wingham SES Unit to see the 2 life saving AED ‘S our club sponsorship had provided.  As a result of our contribution they now have enough AED’S for each vehicle that responds to incidents in their territory.  Each AED costs over $2500 so it was with great pleasure we were able to provide the unit with sufficient funds to purchase 2 of these life saving machines.

It is accepted worldwide that prompt response to cardiac events saves lives.  Now if Wingham SES responds to an incident they are fully equipped and trained to help save a member of the public or indeed one of their own should the need arise.

We were all most impressed with the level of experience within our local unit many with over 10 years service in SES.  The local unit Commander Gary Green and Deputy Commander Lyndal Adams have the backing of dedicated volunteers with outstanding equipment and training to serve their tertitory that stretches from Walcha down to Nowendoc and into Wingham.  Thank you for a most informative evening.

Kathryn Robinson Board Member.
